Last season three colleges in the province of Almeria has visited Agrupalmería facilities.

In total more than 150 children and young people have had the opportunity to learn  part of the process of commercialization of our fruit and vegetables and to learn more about the so called “Miracle Almeria”.

The City of Almeria has been the driving force behind these visits. They have seen students such as work processes of a Alhondiga, from the tomato as it reaches the loading dock, directly from the greenhouse, even as the commodity is introduced into the trailers after Almería products distributed by throughout Europe.

Agrupalmería staff explained each step in detail to be the part of the auction raised the most interest. The students were guests for a day to be able to sit in the room and use computer systems to better understand this system of selling.

At the same time, it also proved how to weigh, label and identify a product, how to apply strict quality control, which includes traceability and even how to prepare a pallet for travel to the target market.

After the visit they recieved a a gift by  IGP La Cañada – Nijar and a book on the history of  the “Breakfast Andaluz” where children can learn the importance of maintaining a healthy diet with natural products of our land.
